		Saturday, January 19, 2013 4 Mile Snowshoe Race A Fundraising Event to benefit the Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring Foundation






This Snowshoe Scramble race is a Granite State Snowshoe Series Event to be held in Whitaker Woods, the intown trail network maintained by the Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring Foundation located in North Conway Village. This 4-mile race course consists of groomed trails and twisty singletrack. Start Time: 10 am sharp Check in time: 8:30 - 9:30 am Registration Fee: $15 before Jan. 14th / $20 beginning Jan. 14th Online Registration is CLOSED. You may register at the event between 8:30 - 9:30 am with cash or personal check.. Snowshoe racing is one of the fastest growing winter sports in the northeast thanks to our fantastic snow and incredible trail networks. This exciting, fast-growing activity will make you fitter and faster than you ever thought possible. Come join us as a participant, or a spectator, at this scenic intown location at the northern edge of North Conway Village. Thank you to Gianina Lindsey for use of these photos from the first l event held in January, 2011. Forty-nine participants of all ages competed in the event. Jim Johnson finished first with a time of 0:26:53. Amber Ferreira was the first female finisher (12th place overall) with a time of 0:30:55. Jim Johnson took first place again in 2012 with a time of 27:27 and Leslie Dixon was the first female finisher, and placed 11th overall, with a time of 34:55.
